Caitlin Clark, the WNBA’s brightest star & league punching bag, is again the victim of foul play and jealousy.

It’s been a tough road for the 2024 first overall pick in Caitlin Clark. Since joining the league it appears the rest of the women have an eye on the megastar…and not for good reason.

On Tuesday the 17th, the Fever routed the Connecticut Sun 88-71. Along the way, some no name lowlife Marina Mabrey (I’m sure she’s a wonderful person) decided to take a cheap shot at clark in the 3rd quarter. Moments before, Clark had been jabbed/poked in the eye by Sun guard Jacy Shelton (final line of 2 points and 4 personal fouls with a -23 plus/minus). Which led to Clark then being bumped into by Shelton, which Clark then tried to separate from Shelton who was oddly walking Clark down…which led to the response from Mabrey (amazing stats of 6 points and 4 personal fouls with a -16 plus/minus).

This is just another instance in a long line of jealousy from the other women in the WNBA. They want what Caitlin Clark has, but they’re just not worthy of the spotlight. Clark is a superstar, a Bonafide face of the WNBA since the day she stepped foot into the league. And while there are plenty of other good players (certainly not Sheldon or Mabrey), no one is on the level of Queen Clark. My favorite part through all of it is Clark’s consistent approach when speaking to the media about these heinous fouls against her. She said “You guys came for basketball, let’s talk about basketball” “Come on now. We’re going to the Commissioner’s Cup Championship, that’s pretty exciting. Y’all wanna talk about that? Let’s talk about that.”

A true professional, not wanting this to be all about her…making sure that the Indiana Fever as a whole are the focal point of the conversation. Something the young 23 year old understands that maybe the long time face of the NBA can take note of. Not naming any names here, but the selfless nature of Clark should be applauded. I, for one, will continue to applaud Clark as she continues on her journey to greatness.

I’ll see you on the next tee box.
