It’s no secret anymore, Ben Griffin is one of the hottest names in golf this season. The guy has completely transformed his game, and he credit’s it to a massive change in his workout regiment. Here he is, again, up near the top of the leaderboard along the likes of Scottie Scheffler and Jordan Spieth. This years Memorial Tournament is shaping up to be a great one, yet again.
Last year, we saw the white hot Scottie Scheffler take home the trophy as he edged out Collin Morikawa by a single stroke. This year, Scottie is currently in 4th as we prepare to see him tee off in a few moments. It’s no secret at this point, Scottie is a machine and a force to be reckoned with. It almost seems like you have to be leading by 7+ strokes heading into the final round to count this guy out….and yet he still might pull of some magic.
Ben Griffin, last weeks winner at the Charles Schwab Challenge, is T-1 as we head into today’s round. He continues his great play from last week, where we saw him claim his 2nd victory of the season. His weekend thus far has been a tale of two rounds, carding a 65 on Thursday and 72 Yesterday. My best guess is he gains some of the traction from Thursday and cards a score around 67. I would love to see him continue his great play and take it into the final round alone at the top.
Uh oh…here comes Jordan. Jordan Spieth, golfs most interesting player (by far) has played really well through two rounds. He is pulling off some incredible shots….and some not so incredible ones, but that’s Jordan for ya. This guy, no matter what, will put on a show for the fans. And I’ll just be the one to say it, golf is a lot more exciting when Jordan Spieth is playing good. It’s great to see him T-5, and I think he has played well enough to contend heading into the final two rounds. I love him to finish T-5 this week.
Can we see some more Scheffler magic in the last two days of the memorial? Will Ben Griffin continue his magnificent play and get his 3rd win this season? Or can Jordan Spieth return to the winner circle in dramatic fashion? Time will tell, but I will be glued to the TV for this one. As for my best value bet, I’ll take Spieth T-5 +140 at Fanduel Sportsbook. (Bet responsibly 🙂
