Chicago Bears: 3 Peat Off-season Champs

Holy S*** King Poles has done it again. Yes, I was excited in 2023 when the Bears won the off-season, and again when they objectively won the off-season again…But this feels different.

In 2023, they signed Tremaine Edmunds to a four year deal and cemented the center of their defense. They then signed: TJ Edwards, Nate Davis (gross but seemed right at the time), DeMarcus Walker, Andrew “Big Bill” Billings and Robert Tonyan. They also traded the #1 overall selection to Carolina in the most lop-sided trade in NFL history. The Bears were able to pick up pick #9, #61, Carolina’s first-round pick in 2024, their second-round pick in 2025 and D.J. Moore. Holy Christ was I excited when they did this….and admittedly I was a Justin Fields truther but that’s besides the point. They clearly won that trade at the time, and it is even moore evident now (see what I did there).

In 2024, the Bears were coming off an abysmal season in which they were at a crossroads at the QB position. Ultimately, they moved on from Justin Fields and selected Caleb Williams. Williams was the most hyped QB in the draft since Andrew Luck, and was a surfire #1 pick since his sophomore season at USC. The Bears bolstered their roster with moves like: D’Andre Swift, Kevin Byard, Gerald Everett(gross), Coleman Shelton (puke), DeAndre Carter. Man, again they were receiving hype like no other. I was duped…yet again.

That brings us to the FIRST day of the 2025 FA signing period. Holy shit. Ryan Poles is going all out and we haven’t even hit the 24 hour mark in FA. He already hired Ben Johnson (A+), Dennis Allen as the DC, and traded for Joe Thuney and Jonah Jackson….This guy then picks up the likes of: Drew Dalman, Dayo Odeyingbo, and Grady f****** Jarrett. Seriously??? The Bears are the first 3-peat in NFL history, winning 3 straight off-season championships. Everyone else might as well throw in the towel here. AND we still have 3 picks in the top 42 selections in this years draft….come on now King Ryan!! (And not that freak boxing kid…).

In all seriousness, I am very excited about how the last 7 days have been as a Chicago Bears fan. I truly believe that they have made the right moves, whether they work out or not. This is a change of pace from previous Bears leadership, who would neglect to make the “right” moves at the right time. I put that in quotes because we all know that these moves only look good on paper in March, but will truly be able to be judged come September/October. I am very hopeful for this year, with a new offensive minded coach to guide our franchise QB coming into his second season. As well as a revamped offensive and defensive line to help them win the war in the tranches. I, like Barstool Big Cat, will be staying very middle of the road excited though. To be fair, I have been duped for 2 straight years….my God though, if this works out👀.

All in all, Bear TF Down. I could care less about the rest of the off-season (joking). I know there’s a chance that I get let down, again…but for once, I feel like the Bears are making the most obvious moves for their roster composition (in the right way). My eyes will be glued to the TV for the rest of the week in hopes they can pull off yet another big splash, but if not, I am very happy with what they have done.

Stay tuned for my complete, non-biased, review of the Bears off-season post draft. Who knows, maybe we’ll get to see Ashton Jeanty in the navy and orange come this fall.
